CloseLuke 19:1–10 | In this sermon, we walk through the Gospel of Luke as this book reveals to us who Jesus is, what he did, and why he did what he did. Our sermon begins by looking at the angel’s announcement to the shepherds about the birth of Jesus and then surveys Luke’s portrayal of Jesus’s ministry especially among tax collectors, before focusing our attention on Jesus’s interaction with Zacchaeus, a chief tax collector in Jericho in Luke 19:1–10. This study causes us to grow in our affections for Jesus and clarifies for us the mission of Jesus: “to seek and to save the lost.”
