CloseGalatians 2:11–21 (Part 1) | Galatians 2:11–21 is, without a doubt, one of the most important parts of Paul’s letter to the Galatians; but it is also, without a doubt, one of the most difficult sections to grasp. So, in this first sermon on this text, we examine carefully one of the most tense moments in the entire history of Christianity: Paul’s public confrontation of Peter in Antioch. Through looking at this incident closely, we are not only reminded about the gospel and about the reality that no Christian is above failure, we also set the stage for our treatment of the rest of Paul’s discussion with Peter in Galatians 2:15–21 in the next sermon.
